Thesimplestway aims to provide online shopping around Europe from two shopping precincts. The Central Arcade serves the United Kingdom and Europe, and there are further plans to open linked sites to serve North America and Canada, and an Australasian mall, which will serve the southern hemisphere. The UK site is a mixture of brand names and unknown stores, some of which have High Street outlets, and some do online shopping only. There are two distinct advantages that thesimplestway has over it’s competitors:

1. Presentation – most online shopping malls are just listings of sites with a brief description, whereas thesimplestway shows what the stores have in the way of special offers, by means of banner and text advertising.

2. Audience – many shopping malls only cater for the United Kingdom, whereas thesimplestway caters for the UK and Europe with future plans to include the USA and Australasia.

The malls are currently divided into departments covering all aspects of daily life, and new stores are added on a daily basis. A listing of the departments is shown in Precinct 1 and Precinct 2. There are two further departments which have their own sections, these being Money and Travel Centres.

Predictions are that the Internet will replace High Street shopping in a vast way in the future, and with this in mind, most if not all of the High Street chains have their own websites and are looking for ways to advertise on the Internet. A proportion of the websites on thesimplestway only sell via the internet.

The chief characteristics of shopping on the Internet are that it is convenient (i.e. no walking around shops in inclement weather, trying to find parking places, customers can buy from the shops 24/7/365), and a majority if not all of the sites on thesimplestway have a privacy policy and secure credit or debit card facilities.
